Fahad Alajlan, president of the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, said there is a need to balance energy security with sustainability, to sustain investment in the oil and gas sector, and to pursue economically viable solutions to reduce emissions. He made the remarks in Riyadh.
Alajlan spoke at the third Symposium on Pathways to Reduce Carbon Emissions in the Petroleum Downstream Industries, which was organized by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries.
